Building “Bloomberg” for Government Affairs Professionals

Dear Chris,

Thank you for your interest in Delphic Research and the opportunity to work together on building a market-leading intelligence platform for Canada’s energy sector.

We have completed the work of validating our model, proving traction in health and life sciences, developing a product that meets the needs of government affairs professionals, and creating a platform capable of scaling across industries. With that foundation established, expanding into energy represents both a strategic and natural evolution of our business.

At its core, Delphic Research aggregates policy, political, regulatory, and stakeholder intelligence, synthesizes that intelligence into actionable insights, and directs relevant knowledge to each subscriber in a way that is meaningful to them. Through a Sussex/Delphic partnership, we will apply this same discipline to one of the most complex and policy-intensive sectors of the Canadian economy.

Our business operates on a subscription-based model, with Canadian clients averaging CAD 3,500 per month. The same structure applied to energy creates a clear and measurable opportunity to build a large recurring revenue base within five years.

Market Opportunity

Canada’s energy ecosystem is one of the most significant policy environments in the country. It is home to thousands of organizations whose operations are directly influenced by regulation, legislation, and government action.

As you well know, this is a large and dynamic industry, one that includes thousands of clean tech firms, power generation and transmission firms, and utilities, along with an array of regulators, consultants, and suppliers.

Beyond these firms, national and provincial associations such as the Canadian Electricity Association, Canadian Gas Association, Canadian Energy Pipeline Association, Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers, and Canadian Renewable Energy Association play a central role in shaping policy and industry coordination.

Based on our Total Addressable Market (TAM), the estimate of a diversified energy market in Canada is $126M.

Why Now

The Canadian energy sector is undergoing structural transformation. The policy landscape is shifting rapidly under the weight of decarbonization, infrastructure modernization, Indigenous engagement, and industrial competitiveness.

At the same time, policy and regulatory uncertainty have reached historic highs. G20 countries have introduced 40 percent more new regulations per year compared to the previous decade, and nearly eight in ten executives anticipate further regulatory obligations ahead. For the energy industry, policy risk now translates directly into business risk.

Companies that can interpret regulatory developments faster and more accurately will make better decisions, secure greater stability, and gain a competitive advantage. Delphic Energy will position itself as the intelligence layer enabling that capability.

The Partnership

Delphic Research brings the platform, the team, the process, and the information engine. Sussex Strategy, together with your hard-won sector expertise and relationships, brings the credibility, instincts, and access that move markets. Together, we form an accretive flywheel that drives faster signal detection, sharper insight, stronger positioning, and higher win rates. The result is a partnership that is truly greater than the sum of its parts.

The Platform: How we do it

Argus, our proprietary knowledge engine, monitors thousands of policy and regulatory sources across Canada to identify early signals of change. It processes these signals into actionable insights delivered through our Executive Daily Briefings and digital dashboards.

We use technology to amplify expertise rather than replace it. Our clients receive finished intelligence, not raw data. Delphic Energy will apply this model to a sector that demands clarity, precision, and reliability. The Platform doesn’t just produce Executive daily briefings, but can feel a host of other channels and product focus.

Expansion Potential

While the immediate focus is on Canada, there is a clear opportunity to extend the same platform and model into the United States market. We are currently discussing with US investors including a senior principal of a major US government firm interested in expanding the business in the US. Our Proposal to you includes some direct upside with respect to US territory in association with this partnership.

We’re genuinely energized by what this could become. The opportunity feels real and within reach, and we believe that together we can build something that has lasting impact across the Canadian energy landscape. I’m looking forward to continuing the conversation and seeing where this collaboration can take us.

Sincerely,

Jason Grier, on behalf of the entire team at Delphic Research,
